Murder Case: Slaying Followed Robbery, Sheriff Says

Two people were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of murdering a Santa Cruz County woman.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Two people have been arrested in connection with a Santa Cruz County killing deputies discovered Tuesday. The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office said it believes the motive was robbery.

Transients Caitlin R. Crenshaw, 23, and Cody Huynh, 23, were located in San Bernardino County and arrested.

Crenshaw was found in the car of Kimberly Smith, 55, who deputies found dead Tuesday in her home near Pasatiempo in the 800 block of Graham Hill Road, the sheriff's office said. Crenshaw was arrested.

Huynh was in jail on unrelated charges.

Crenshaw and Huynh were brought to Santa Cruz County and booked on murder and robbery charges, the sheriff's office said. They remain in jail without bail.
