Pursuit Ends When Man Drives Into Active Shooter Training

FELTON, CA — A California Highway Patrol officer's pursuit of a Santa Cruz man, 55, ended this weekend when he drove into a parking lot where three law enforcement agencies were holding an active shooter training, CHP said.

Officers from California Highway Patrol, California State Parks and the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office assisted the CHP officer as the cars pulled into Roaring Camp Railroad in Felton. There were also medics in the fire service and emergency medical service on scene, CHP said.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and evading an officer, CHP said.
