Search Called Off For Person Reported Missing From Palm Beach State Park
Two people told authorities they saw an individual disappear into the waters on Sunday afternoon.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA -- U.S. Coast Guard officials said they called off a search Sunday night
for a person who appeared to have gone missing Sunday afternoon from the water off Palm Beach State Park in Watsonville.
The Coast Guard was first notified of the missing person at 4:28 p.m. at Palm Beach State Park at 2660 Beach Road, Lt. j.g. Steven Dross said.
Two people told a lifeguard that they saw a person disappear in the water, prompting the search, Palm Beach State Park Lifeguard Supervisor Eddie Rhee-Pizano said.

The two people had no relationship with the person who appeared to have drowned and no one reported to emergency officials that a family member was missing.
The search was called off as of about 9:10 p.m., Dross said.
