Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Free Movies & Concerts: See Lineup

SANTA CRUZ, CA – This summer's free "Friday Night Bands on the Beach" and "Movies on the Beach" are underway at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, offering fun, family-friendly entertainment in its classic California setting.

This is the 30th year for the Boardwalk’s Friday Night Bands on the Beach concert series featuring top bands and legendary musicians from the 70s, 80s and 90s. The concerts run through Aug. 31, with two shows per Friday: 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Free Movies on the Beach are on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. through Aug. 15. No movie is planned, however, on July 4.

This summer's movie lineup:

  • June 27 - Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
  • July 11 - Legally Blonde
  • July 18 - Ferris Bueller's Day Off
  • July 25 - Hairspray
  • Aug. 1 - Jumanji (1995)
  • Aug. 8 - Ghostbusters (1984)
  • Aug. 15 - Raiders of the Lost Ark

Also at the Boardwalk through Aug. 17, magicians, acrobats, jugglers and comedians will perform free on two stages. Kids will get a kick out of such performers as Bob at Large, Capt’n Jack Spareribs, the Piano Juggler, the Surfing Magician, Scotty & Trink and others.
