Coronavirus: Latest Santa Cruz County Updates, Total Case Count

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — In Santa Cruz County, 108 people are confirmed to have contracted the new coronavirus, according to the Santa Cruz County Health Services Agency.

Some 2,849 people have tested for COVID-19 and received negative results. Eighteen people have been hospitalized, 56 have recovered and there have been two deaths associated with the virus, according to the county.

Santa Cruz County, like all of California, remains under a shelter-in-place order.

The first death was reported Sunday, March 29. The victim was a man in his early 70s with an underlying health condition, according to the county.
