Food businesses such as restaurants and caterers are sought to participate in the Great Plates Delivered program.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Santa Cruz County is seeking food businesses interested in participating in a new statewide program to deliver meals to seniors and high-risk adults.

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced on April 24 plans to create the Great Plates Delivered program seeks to bring seniors and high-risk adults ages 60 to 64 years three meals each day from local restaurants, caterers and more. Food businesses must meet certain nutritional and delivery requirements, the county said. Businesses will be reimbursed by the county.

Food businesses interested in participating should email eoc032@santacruzcounty.us by 4 p.m. May 11 with: a brief description of their business; a proposed menu; average daily per person costs broken down into the cost of delivery, administrative costs and breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks; and the date that the business could begin service. Businesses should also state whether they would be interested in donating 6.25 percent of meals as the local share of cost, the county said.
