
SANTA CRUZ, CA — A West Cliff Drive cyclist was rescued last week after he veered off of the sidewalk and fell onto the beach below.
The man suffered a medical episode while in the area of Fair Avenue, Santa Cruz police said. The man and his bike fell off of the trail and onto the beach around sunset Thursday.
Police responded to the scene. Santa Cruz Fire brought a ladder truck, which hoisted the man to safety above.
