Show Off Your Smarty Pants Skills at the 6th Annual Trivia Challenge
Trivia enthusiasts this is your chance to shine for a good cause at the Trivia Challenge on Feb 27th at the Civic Auditorium.
Are you a trivia enthusiast? Then I have the perfect event for you.
The Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County is once again hosting the Trivia Challenge at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium on Feb 27th from 6:00-9:30PM. Now in it’s sixth year this event has proven to be a local favorite among the smarty pants crowd attracting college students, business teams, and community do-gooders alike.
Event organizers promise a fabulously fun and quirky event complete with an elephant seal mascot.

Why the mascot?
“Well, ...because elephants never forget of course”, states Trivia Challenge Committee Member Larissa Printzian.

This begs the question, does this phrase actually apply to elephant seals? And secondly, just what is the connection between these two animals?
“Two perfect questions for our trivia buffs“, states Printzian with a smile.
Indeed the evening is meant to be all in good fun as the ultimate goal is to show support for the Senior Programs of the Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County. Each year the Volunteer Center partners with thousands of local seniors to provide free rides to those who are home-bound, free safety related home-repairs, and life saving resources for emergency response. Additionally the Volunteer Center connect seniors with opportunities to use their lifetime of skill and talent through volunteerism. Last year, senior volunteers contributed a whopping $3 million dollars worth of their time to the local community.
Trivia lovers this is your chance to shine for a good cause. Grab a few friends and join Master of Ceremonies Dale Julin from KSBW TV for this feel good fun night of fast facts, great eats, and friendly faces all competing for top honors as the smarty pants team of the year.
If You Go:
Trivia participants can expect topics ranging from Geography, literature, and history to movies, pop culture, music, and sports.
Not sure if you want to compete? Join in as a spectator and play along from your chair while you enjoy live music, small bites, desserts, raffle prizes and a no host wine and beer bar.
Spectator tickets are just $5 in advance and $10 at the door.
Teams of up to four can register until the day of the event for $300 per team.
Doors open at 6PM and the contest will kick off at 7PM.
