Stolen Checkbook Recovered During Patrol Check Of Santa Cruz Park
A deputy on patrol discovered the car backed into a parking spot in a local park late Friday. The driver is accused of multiple charges.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — A man was arrested in a Santa Cruz park late Friday night on suspicion identity theft after deputies found him to be in possession of stolen property, sheriff’s officials said. A deputy discovered the man, later identified as Richard Gilreath, as he sat inside a sedan backed into a parking space at Jose Avenue Park.
Officials said Gilreath was found to be in possession of a stolen checkbook, drivers license, a social security card, and an ATM card. Gilreath was arrested and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on multiple charges.
