Struggling Santa Cruz County Seniors Eligible For Meal Delivery
The Santa Cruz Great Plates Delivered program provides three free meals per day from local businesses.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Santa Cruz County seniors and older high-risk adults who need help obtaining meals amid the new coronavirus pandemic may be eligible for the Santa Cruz Great Plates Delivered program, which serves up three meals per day from local food businesses.
Gov. Gavin Newsom announced on April 24 plans to create the Great Plates Delivered program. Food businesses must meet certain nutritional and delivery requirements, and will be reimbursed by the county.
The program runs through June 10, unless the state extends it.

Seniors (65 years and older) and high-risk adults (60 years and older) are eligible if they meet all of the following criteria:
- Live alone or with one other eligible adult
- Do not receive state or federal food assistance (e.g. CalFresh, Meals on Wheels, food stamps, SNAP)
- Earn less than $74,940 in a single-person household or $101,460 in a two-person household
- Are currently unable to prepare or get meals
