Students 'Urged' To Return Home From UC Santa Cruz

Campus will remain open, but the university says students who can go home should.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — The University of California, Santa Cruz is urging students to return home after deciding spring quarter classes and exams would be held remotely due to concerns about the new coronavirus. Campus will remain open and student services will be delivered via videoconferencing program Zoom.

Students who can safely return to their permanent home should do so, the university said in a letter to students.

There are no confirmed coronavirus on campus, the university said. Any campus workers exposed to the virus are asked to email oes@ucsc.edu.
