Woman Suffers Major Injuries in Hit-and-Run Collision Near Aptos

A woman suffered major injuries in a hit-and-run collision near Aptos in Santa Cruz County over the weekend, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, a 25-year-old Aptos woman was walking on a sidewalk along Treasure Island Avenue west of Winfield Way where she was struck by a car that had swerved at high speeds, CHP officials said.
The driver of the vehicle drove away west on Treasure Island Avenue, according to the CHP.

The woman was transported by ambulance to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose. Her injuries were considered life-threatening but she is now in stable condition, according to the CHP.
The suspect’s vehicle may have damage to its right front headlight and bumper, CHP officials said. Anyone with information on the collision is asked to call the Santa Cruz CHP office at (831) 662-0511.
