The New York Times says, “He’s a romantic baritone with a deep-funk band, stretching out songs, evoking both the ’70s of Roberta Flack and Gil Scott-Heron and the ’90s and oughts of J Dilla."

What: 2013 Farm & Garden Docent Training Program
When: 4p.m. - 5:30p.m.
Where: The Alan Chadwick Farm and The UCSC Farm on the Campus
Cost: Free
Why Go: Get dirty while having fun learning practical organic farming methods during this five session program. A willingness to learn about sustainable agriculture and helping with public educational events in the garden after completing the training program is required to dig in. What: Wednesday Night Sailboat Races
When: 5:30p.m. -8:30p.m.
Where: Santa Cruz Harbor

Why Go: Just one more reason to go enjoy the sunset at the harbor. This lively event is a must for scene seekers.
What: Student robotics competition
When: 7 p.m.
Where: Baskin Engineering Auditorium (Rm 101) at UCSC
Why go: Robots with a Star Trek theme, "Going Where No Slug Has Gone Before" See robot battles. Ping Pong Ball weapons. Asteroids. This is sci-fi made real. See student ingenuity at its highest level. Amaze your kids.
Thursday, March 14th
What: Cooking Gluten & Dairy-Free Around the World Export Event
When: 6p.m. - 8:30p.m.
Where: New Leaf Community Markets, 1101 Fair Avenue
Cost: $225 for the whole series
Why Go: Get a taste of the world in this six-week cooking class program without even leaving town. Learn to prepare Greek, French, Asian, Italian, Latin, and Spanish ethnic cuisines at home tailored to your unique dietary desires. Chef Lauren Hoover-West leads the series.
