Artists, writers, and those who do both - this class is for you! Learn how to bind a 9 x 12 hardcover sketch book using new and recycled materials. Create a faux embossed look using paper and paint, assemble interior pages, then learn how to bind them together with an exposed spine to lay flat for sketching and working in. This session is followed by an open journaling hangout with Angharad - play around with your newly created journals with fun collaging and decorating ideas!

Angharad Caceres is a lifelong crafter and founder of the Urban Craft Center. Beginning with the Campfire group... she belonged to in elementary school, she has dabbled in a huge variety of crafts (many of them glue gun dependent) but especially enjoys those that create objects with purpose. Bookbinding, soap making, knitting, and sewing are at the top of her list. Teaching has always been a part of her life, from the 4th and 5th grades she taught in Portland, Oregon, to the classes she ran at the Urban Craft Center; she is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and passion for making.
