Sustainable (re)Gifting & Artist Material Exchange. All are welcome to stop by the Camera Obscura and prepare for holidays or for year-round gifting.
Pick up some fun ideas for reusable fabric giftwrap (we’ll be demonstrating furoshiki tying techniques), get tips for repurposing old t-shirts into handmade gifts, and donate or swap arts & crafts materials through a community-generated exchange.
Sick of wrestling with (sometimes lead paint-containing) wrapping paper? Learn some age-old techniques for wrapping presents and daily items of all shapes and sizes with fabric your recipient can use again!
Plus: cal...ling all artists, crafters and hobbyists - wrap up your year with a clean out, swap and destash day! If you have materials you’d like to clear out from your workspace, like paper, fabric, yarn, brushes, (nontoxic) paints, beads, that kit you’re never going to put together, or other art-ready items, bring them here and connect with your fellow makers, while looking for that perfect swap! We’ll have demonstrations with recycled materials to get your creative juices flowing. We’ll also be taking donations for our ongoing Second Saturday Craft Lounges, where you are welcome to make something while getting our living room messy (rather than yours!) Participants come away with an exclusive Camera Obscura card, bookmark or gift tag printed right here on our Printing Press.
Stay after for a linocut & printmaking workshop with Zeina Baltagi (separate registration).
Drop by for a short time and parking a breeze! $4 for 3.5 hours at Structure 6, right around the corner on 2nd. Yellow zone drop off right in front of the building.
