Carve a linoleum printing block with the holiday or gift message of your choice to make greeting cards and gift tags all your own! Linoleum block printing is a form of relief, the oldest kind of printmaking, where the raised parts of the block transfer ink while the parts to be left un-inked are removed. Woodblock printing was invented in China in 220 A.D. - and relief printing in its various forms are used today. A few famed artists who have worked with relief printing are Albrecht Durer, Paul Gauguin, Kathe Kollwitz, Edvard Munch and Hokusai. Students are welcome to stay until 6pm through the end of the Sunday P...rintmaking Lab at no additional charge.

Upon graduation from California State University, Northridge with a B.A. in printmaking in 2013, Zeina Baltagi co-founded the Valley Print Studio with fellow artist Miles Lewis in Woodland Hills. She currently teaches classes at LA Music and Art School, in East L.A. Baltagi recently exhibited work in ‘Biomythography’ curated by Jessica Wimbley and Chris Christian at Claremont Graduate University and its recent incarnation at California Lutheran University. She just co-curated with A. Laura Brody, ‘Opulent Mobility (re-imagining mobility)‘, at California State University, Northridge. See her work atvalleyprintstudio.com and zeinabaltagi.com.
