Create a ravishing toy theater out of cardstock and household items. The Victorian pasttime has some surprising modern-day versions! Puppeteer Alexis Macnab goes over puppetry techniques, lighting considerations, designs and other elements to customize your toy theater. Perhaps you love dioramas and vintage theaters, or enjoy looking at architectural models - even if you have no prior experience cutting out paper dolls or making miniatures, you’ll get a kick out of this form of 3D collage! Toy theaters also make unique gifts - for a child or an adult.

Short classes make parking a breeze! $1 for 2.5 hours at Structure 6, right around the corner.

Alexis Macnab is a puppetry and visual artist. She has been working as a puppeteer, teaching artist, and director of multi-media performance for thirteen years in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles. Alexis has taught puppet workshops in various styles through the CAPSA Program at Ramón C. Cortines School of the Visual and Performing Arts, and artworxLA, a non-profit arts organization partnering with alternative high schools throughout Los Angeles County. She is also a fine artist in the medium of kaleidoscopes and has taught kaleidoscope-building workshops in Los Angeles through The Music Center and Automata.
