6/13 Guest Artist: Celebrated knitwear designer Grace Akhrem will be leading a KAL (knit-a-long) startup with her Seaweed Scarf, and will also be fielding knitting questions. The second Saturday of every month at 1450 Ocean is special - all are welcome to work on projects, take in a mini-workshop, and stretch their craft-legs. Work in a friendly setting in this open lab. Knitters/Crocheters, hang out and practice your stitches. Beaders, knot up something nice - and scrapbookers, origami artists, bookbinders, ornament makers, go! Sewing machines provided for sharing; miscellaneous craft supplies and expertise on hand. Work on projects, trade tips, materials and ideas. We often invite a guest artist to lead a mini session in their area of expertise. Bring your friends and craft together with tea and company.
Tea and snacks, and pom pom making when you want a break.
Parking is around the corner at Structure 6 on 2nd, $2.50 for 3 hours.
Grace Akhrem, a Los Angeles native, has always been artistic and crafty. She started out drawing, then painting, then moved on to photography and ceramics.
