Learn how to make a clay sculpture and layer tissue paper over it to create a finely translucent papier mache mask or three dimensional object. Saturday we’ll make the molds and execute the papier mache, and Sunday we’ll separate the dried pieces from their molds, make repairs and begin the decoration process. We’ll go over decorative techniques and suggestions for further exploration, including making hinged jaws for ‘talking’ masks. This is a great introduction to maskmaking for theatrical and fine art purposes.
Parking is around the corner at Structure 6 on 2nd, $4 for 3.5 hours.
