Pen and Ink represent one of the oldest forms of drawing and one of the most visually intense and compositionally complex. Through the use of sharp, broad, and calligraphic lines, an ink drawing becomes a network of representations and symbols. This creates both a strong feeling of illusion and a strong sense of touch. In this class, students will receive an introduction to traditional and contemporary methods of working with inks on a variety of papers. With different kinds of pens, we will cover the basic range of line-making applications, such as hatching, cross-hatching, and cross-con...touring. Students will leave with a deeper idea and practical knowledge about the potential of pen and ink.
Material fee includes speciality pen kit, limited numbers available for this class, so please call ahead if you are thinking of dropping in.
