In this class we will learn how to create a basic customized sock pattern without foot measurements or a gauge swatch. To create the Gaugeless Toe-Up Sock, we’ll knit a little mini-sock and learn the following techniques: magic eight cast on, short-row heel, and elastic bind-off. No pattern for this class; you are going to learn how to write your own! This is a class for advanced beginner or intermediate knitters who can knit, purl, increase, and work with dpns in the round. Come away with knowledge and a mini sampler sock! Please bring: smooth textured worsted weight yarns in one light color and a second contrasting light color (at most 50 yds total, small hanks/leftovers should be fine), one set of five size 7 U.S. double point needles, one size 7 (4.5mm) crochet hook, tapestry needle, stitch markers (preferably locking or split), and a stitch holder. Optional: tape measure, calculator, and row counter.Parking is a breeze! $4 for 3.5 hours at Structure 6, right around the corner, or $5 all day at the Civic Center lot down the street (Main St.).
