The Main Event

  • The Annenberg Community Beach House's 2011 Choreographer in Residence, Keith Glassman,  at the community center and talk about the site-specific dance he will be crafting there. Glassman will also screen and talk about clips of classic movies that might influence his new project. The free event happens from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m.

  • Meanwhile, today is also the deadline to apply for a summer residency at the beach house. Applications for the residency—which will go to a small ensemble that will create a theatrical performance—need to be in by 5 p.m. Go here to download the application.

Other Happenings

  • stages its fourth comedy night this evening from 7 to 11 p.m. Performers include Susie Abraham, Drew Dorenfest, Julie Lofrano, Flip Schultz, LeeAnn Tooker, Garet Webb and Allison Weber. There's no cover, but a two-drink minimum is required. The piano bar and supper club plans to host similar shows every Monday going forward.
  • The six-week continues this evening, with the spotlight on shopping and food. The class will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at . It's free, but a donation is recommended.
  • Older adults interested in learning more about acting should consider today's on-camera cold reading class that director Adam Collis will be leading at the . No experience is required for the session, which will happen from 6 to 8:45 p.m., and participants will get to take home a DVD of their recording.

  • If it's Monday, it's "Learn to Knit" at the . As usual, the gathering takes place from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
