Al Mare Italian Restaurant Closes On Santa Monica Pier

Its replacement will have a grill, sandwich shop, and rooftop lounge.

SANTA MONICA, CA – Italian restaurant Ristorante Al Mare, located on the Santa Monica Pier, has closed and will be replaced by Seaside on the Pier. It's unclear when the beachside restaurant closed, but the last Yelp review was written in Oct. 2017, according to Eatery Los Angeles.

Al Mare's replacement will have a grill, sandwich shop, and rooftop lounge, according to a sign outside the building.

Ristorante Al Mare opened in 2013 and was owned by Franco Sorgi and Paolo Simeone, who also currently own Trastevere on Third Street Promenade, and La Piazza at the Grove, according to Eatery LA. The space was a massive 9,000-square-feet, three-levels, and was also a live music venue.

Seaside On The Pier’s opening date is unknown. Its location is at 250 Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, Calif.
