SANTA MONICA, CA — Santa Monica's Big Blue Bus will offer free rides throughout its network Tuesday, Nov. 3, giving residents and visitors a fare-free way to travel on Election Day.
The transit agency announced Monday that it will waive fares systemwide for the 2026 general election, helping voters reach polling places without the added cost of transportation.
The promotion applies to all passengers, regardless of whether they are traveling to vote, and covers regular Big Blue Bus services throughout Santa Monica and surrounding Westside communities.
Big Blue Bus connects Santa Monica with destinations including UCLA, neighboring communities and regional transit hubs, providing an alternative to driving for residents traveling across the Westside.
The fare waiver continues a practice the agency has followed during previous elections, including the November 2024 general election.
