Make paper from scratch, embedded with California Native seeds! Once your paper dries you can make cards and tags that can be planted in the Fall - and can even print images on the paper using gentle methods. Upcycle your non-glossy junk mail to add to the paper mix, or play with other embedded leaves and herbs. Bring an apron and shoes you don't mind getting wet, and a cardboard box or flat to take your work home. Every Sunday during the month of July, make your very own fancy blank sketchbook piece by piece. We'll be going over making handmade paper, marbling endpapers, binding signatures, and adorning our books with printed bookplates or drawn illustrations. Upon graduation from California State University, Northridge with a B.A. in printmaking in 2013, Zeina Baltagi co-founded the Valley Print Studio with fellow artist Miles Lewis in Woodland Hills. She currently teaches classes at LA Music and Art School, in East L.A. Baltagi recently exhibited work in 'Biomythography' curated by Jessica Wimbley and Chris Christian at Claremont Graduate University. In September 2015, she exhibited in the second installment of 'Biomythography' at California Lutheran University, and co-curated with A. Train: Metro terminus at 4th St/Colorado, 4 blocks away. Upon exiting the station go west on Colorado to Ocean Ave, cross the street to the Pier and turn right. We're in the park just past Broadway.

Parking: Under $2 for the first 2.5 hours in Parking Structure 6 (1431 2nd Street between Broadway and Santa Monica). On weekends at the Civic Auditorium lot at 1855 Main St it's $5 all day except during special events. Pier Deck: $10-15/day; Beach Lot 1N just north of the Pier $6-12/day. Refunds/Transfers: Full refunds are given if class is cancelled before taking place - enroll online with confidence. For student withdrawals for any other reason, $15 processing fee for each multisession activity refunded; one-time classes & expended material fees are nonrefundable.
