Cool Days, Cool Deals: Discounts, Promotions, & Energy Saving

SANTA MONICA, CA – Conserve Energy SoCal is extending its partnership with the Pacific Wheel at Pacific Park to put on seven more events throughout the rest of the year. Starting on Wednesday, Oct. 4 and continuing on every other Wednesday, the wheel will be lit up with vivid images and colors as a reminder to conserve energy. For each event, Conserve Energy SoCal is hosting a Facebook contest where five winners will each receive two free passes to Pacific Park.

Conserve Energy SoCal is launching Cool Days, Cool Deals so people can power down at home and take advantage of promotions and deals from various attractions, businesses, and retailers, including:

• Aquarium of the Pacific: $7 off adult tickets, with coupon
• Drink Houz: 10% off food and beverage menu, with deal mention
• Escape Room LA: $10 off tickets Tues., Weds. & Thurs. evenings, with code COOLDAYS
• Frostbites: BOGO frozen custard or Italian ice, with deal mention
• Kline Academy of Fine Art: 10% off single or one-month classes, with deal mention
• Makers Mess: 10% off purchases, with code COOLDAYSCOOLDEALS
• Popbar: free dippings and toppings, with deal mention
• The Green Yogi: 15% off packages or classes with code “COOLDAYSCOOLDEALS”
• The Pie Hole: 10% off purchases, with deal mention
• World on Wheels: free bottle of water with any skate session purchase, with deal mention

About 60 percent of electricity generated in California comes from power plants running on natural gas. As temperatures cool down, more natural gas is used in homes for heating, so there may be less for electricity generation. The amount of natural gas available locally this year remains limited, so it’s important to take action and conserve energy, particularly during high-usage periods, the press release said.

Here are some energy conserving tips from Conserve SoCal:

• Set your thermostat to 68 degrees and turn it off when you leave
• Open your blinds or curtains to let sunlight naturally heat your home
• Wash your clothes in cold water
