-CREATIVE DRAMATICS SUMMER CAMPS 2016

Ages 4-7

For those who love the continual process of imagination and invention. Players act, sing, dance, create art, play theater games, dress-up/costumes, and act out the "Play of the Day" using the actor's own ideas inspired by themes such as: Shipwrecked with Mermaids & Pirates; Storming The Castle with Princes, Knights & Wizards; Things with Wings from Fairies to Dragons; Hoe-Downs & Barnyard Animals; Jungle Parades; Super Heroes & Beyond; Safari Adventures; Travel on Trains, Hot-Air Balloons & Rocket-Ships. Every child is encouraged to share ideas and shine in a non-competitive, inspiring environment that develops self-expression, confidence, body awareness, social skills, friendships and joy of expression. Each day culminates in a 'Play of the Day.' No final show.

-IMAGINATION THEATER SUMMER CAMP

Ages 5-8

For young actors who love acting, singing, dancing, dress-up/costumes, creative exploration, storytelling, improvisation, theater games, arts & crafts and performance. Players collaborate on a popular musical, fairytale, cultural story or original adventure play which cumulates in a final show. In a non-competitve, engaging and inspiring environment, 'players develop self-expression, confidence, body awareness, social skills, friendships and joy of expression. Every child has the opportunity to shine.

-MUSICAL THEATER PRODUCTION CAMP

Youth Ages 9-16

Act, sing and dance in a popular musical play while exploring dynamic characters, acting techniques, collaboration and camaraderie with fellow actors, excitement of lights and audience, and the satisfaction of performance. Working with theater education professionals, each actor has the opportunity to shine while building self-confidence and valuable skills. Fun and challenging for advanced to novice performers. Shows are performed in an established theater in Santa Monica.

MT1 Youth & Teen:June 27-July 22 (4 weeks)

-GLEE MUSICAL THEATER SUMMER CAMPS

Ages 8-16

A specialized camp where actors learn popular songs under professional direction. Glee incorporates a chorus-type concept which includes singing, choreography, and creating scenes which reflect the theme of the song. Actors work on current popular material as well as songs from classic musicals working together close on material geared for all singing levels. Brainstorming and collaboration are encouraged. All song ideas are welcome.
Optional showcase based on actors dynamics and wishes.

-COMEDY MUSICAL THEATER

Ages 8-16

Step into the spotlight and tap into your comedic side through this side-splitting comedy musical theater camp.
Explore roles and characters and bring your cast of characters to life! Experience Commedia del Arte characters, improvisation and physical comedy through clown work, vaudeville acts, performance techniques, as well as singing and dancing from hit musicals. The focus of this camp is to encourage the students to nourish and develop their creative voices. The camp culminates in a showcase of scenes presented on the last day of camp.

CMT:August 15 - August 19 (5 days)

Showcase:August 19 at 2 p.m.

Rate:$455 plus $35 material fee
