Little League All-Stars Head to District Playoffs

Santa Monica teams open tournaments Friday and Saturday at Culver City and Ladera.

Santa Monica Little League all-star teams will begin District 25 Tournament play this weekend at Culver City and Ladera. 

Culver City Little League is host to the 11 & 12-year-old District 25 All-Star Baseball Tournament and Santa Monica East plays North Venice in the first game Friday at 5 p.m. at Culver City Park's Bill Botts Field. The winner will play West LA at 3 p.m. Sunday. 

Nine teams are in the tournament: Santa Monica East, Santa Monica West, Culver City, Culver Marina, Beverly Hills, West Los Angeles, Ladera, Malibu and North Venice. The champion advances to the Section 4 Tournament.

Santa Monica West opens against Malibu on Sunday at 10 a.m., with the winner taking on either Ladera or Culver Marina at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The championship game is Saturday, July 9, at 11 a.m., with a second and deciding game Monday, July 11, if necessary in the event that an undefeated team loses the July 9 game. 

Ladera Little League is hosting the 10-11 division, where Santa Monica West opens the 11-team tournament against Culver Marina at 3 p.m. Sunday, with host Ladera playing the winner at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Santa Monica East opens Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. against the winner of Sunday's game between Culver City and Beverly Hills. The championship game is Tuesday, July 12, at 6 p.m., with a second and deciding game Wednesday, July 13, if necessary in the event that an undefeated team loses the July 12 game.

Culver City and Ladera are co-hosting the 9-10 division. The 12-team District 25 tournament starts Saturday, when Santa Monica East plays West Los Angeles at 10 a.m. and Santa Monica West plays Malibu at 12:30 p.m. The championship game is Tuesday, July 12, at 5:30 p.m., with a second and deciding game the next night at the same time if an undefeated team loses the July 12 game. 

The Junior Division, also hosted by Culver City Little League, starts Monday, June 27, and includes nine teams: City of Angels, Santa Monica East, University, West Los Angeles, Culver City, University, Beverly Hills, Culver Marina, Santa Monica West and North Venice.

Santa Monica East plays City of Angels on Monday at 5:30 p.m., with the winner advancing to play Culver City at the same time Friday, July 1. Santa Monica West opens with a 5:30 p.m. game June 30 against North Venice. The championship game is Wednesday, July 13, at 5:30 p.m., with a second and deciding game the next night at the same time if an undefeated team loses the July 13 game. 

The Senior Division will begin Thursday, July 7, and the tournament is being hosted by Beverly Hills Little League. Five teams qualified: Santa Monica, North Venice, Culver Marina, City of Angels and Beverly Hills. Santa Monica will open against North Venice on Saturday, July 9, at 10 a.m. The championship game is Wednesday, July 13, at 6 p.m., with a second and deciding game Thursday, July 14, at 6 p.m. if an undefeated team loses the July 13 game.
