Samohi Spikers Top Southern Section Poll

This week's CIF-Southern Section polls are out, and the boys volleyball team is ranked No. 1 in Division 4. The Vikings are in first place in the Ocean League after back-to-back victories over Culver City.

Interestingly, still has not cracked the Top 10 list in Division 5, despite last week's over North Hollywood Campbell Hall, the fifth-ranked team in Division 4. 

In baseball, is ranked No. 3 in Division 7 behind Rolling Hills Prep and Nuview Bridge. The Jaguars are off to a 6-1 start and have four shutouts. Niko Delgado is batting .625 with 10 runs and eight RBIs. 

Also in baseball, is listed in the "others" category this week, just outside the Top 10. 

In softball, SMCHS is ranked sixth in Division 5 behind Duarte, La Canada, Savanna, Santa Ana Calvary Chapel and Hemet. The Mariners defeated Gardena Serra 11-1 in their Camino Real League opener March 17.

In boys tennis, Samohi is ranked No. 2 in Division 2, behind Palm Desert and Arcadia. The Vikings have impressive victories over City Section champion Palisades and perennial Southern Section power Manhattan Beach Mira Costa.
