Santa Monica Needs Volunteers For Annual Homeless Count

The annual count gives Santa Monica crucial information about how its strategies for combatting homelessness are working, the city said.

SANTA MONICA, CA — The City of Santa Monica needs volunteers for the 2020 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count, from 10:30 p.m. to 2 or 3 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22.

The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority conducts the homeless count every January across Los Angeles County. The Santa Monica deployment site will be at St. Monica Catholic Community at 725 California Ave.

The count gives the city crucial information about "how Santa Monica’s local strategies, in collaboration with LA County regional strategies, are working," the City of Santa Monica said in a release.
