Three women's basketball players have been selected to the First-Team All-Western State Conference for their accomplishments this season and another has received honorable mention.
Sophomores Hayley Henderson (out of Palo Verde High in Las Vegas); Chiquita Thomas (Northside in Columbus, Georgia); and Haley Newell (Woodland Hills Taft) were all named First Team All-Conference for the WSC's South Division while freshman Tashawn McGhee from Harbor City Narbonne earned Honorable Mention.
The Lady Corsairs posted an overall record of 17-10 and went 8-4 in the WSC South Division, good enough for second place.

In related news, the SMC men's squad will host LA Harbor in the first round of the state playoffs on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Corsair Pavilion.
