1 Dead in Crash Near El Capitan Preserve

LAKESIDE, CA — A traffic accident near El Capitan Preserve left one person dead late Wednesday afternoon, authorities reported.

The fatal crash in the 11800 block of Wildcat Canyon Road in Lakeside occurred shortly before 4:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The victim, whose name was not immediately available, died at the scene of the wreck, which forced a closure of the two-lane street between Willow and Muth Valley roads.
