Baby Who Died After Being Left In Car In Santee Identified

SANTEE, CA — Authorities have publicly identified a baby who died after being left in a car for several hours in Santee.

Diana Sofia Aleman Roman, who was 2 months old, was left in a parked SUV outside her family's home in the 10000 block of Settle Road, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

Investigators determined the family arrived home around 3 p.m. June 12, Lt. Lon Nguyen said. A family member called 911 after finding the infant unconscious and still inside the SUV shortly after midnight June 13.

"Deputies and paramedics provided lifesaving measures to the baby," Nguyen said. "Diana was rushed to a hospital, and despite all efforts, she did not survive."

The girl's cause of death remains under investigation.
