Bicyclist Seriously Injured on Cowles Mountain Boulevard: Police

SAN DIEGO, CA — A woman suffered serious injuries in a fall from her bicycle Wednesday in a Lake Murray-area neighborhood, police said.

The 65-year-old woman, whose name was not disclosed, was riding her bike at about noon on Wednesday, traveling north in the 6400 block of Cowles Mountain Boulevard, when she lost control on a steep decline in the roadway, according to San Diego police Sgt. Tom Sullivan.

"She fell off the bicycle and struck the ground and suffered severe head injuries," Sullivan said.

The woman was rushed to a hospital. Her condition as of publication time was not known.
