Boll Weevil and Takka Sushi Open in Santee
The Japanese restaurant and cowboy style burger joint are near each other on Mission Gorge Road.
The local chain of cowboy style burger joints, Boll Weevil, has returned to Santee, and Takka Sushi opened recently as well.
Boll Weevil opened at the site of the old Michael's Grill restaurant (9621 Mission Gorge Road Suite 101), and Takka Sushi is just down the road at the old Jimano's Pizzeria site (9535 Mission Gorge Rd).
Takka Sushi specializes in Japanese food, features a sushi bar and has scored an average 4 of 5 stars on Yelp. Boll Weevil serves American style food, especially burgers, and this location has a more modern feel than others in the county. They're well known for their 1/2 pound Steerburgers and have a line up of draft beer.
