Small Brush Fire Extinguished In Santee Amid Heat Wave
The fire sparked amid a heat wave that is expected to last through Thursday in the region.
SANTEE, CA β Crews extinguished a small brush fire that broke out late Wednesday morning in Santee.
The blaze sparked in a ravine off the 9100 block of Carlton Hills Boulevard, north of Mission Gorge Road, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
Authorities advised the public to avoid the area while crews doused the flames.

The fire ignited amid a heat wave that was expected to last through Thursday in the region, according to the National Weather Service. A heat advisory was in effect until 7 p.m. in Santee.
Elsewhere in the county, crews worked to contain three fires on Camp Pendleton. The fires have burned thousands of acres on the military base, sending thick smoke and ash into surrounding communities.
