Brush Fire Near Viejas Casino Prompts Evacuations
Officials evacuated some homes near the 19700 block of Viejas Grade Road.
ALPINE, CA – Firefighters quickly halted the spread of a fire that sparked Wednesday afternoon in San Diego's East County.
The blaze, called the Figtree Fire, broke out near Viejas Grade Road and Fig Tree Way in Alpine, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
Officials evacuated some homes near the 19700 block of Viejas Grade Road. Viejas Casino & Resort, however, was not evacuated.
