By the Numbers: Santee Unemployment Rates Go Unchanged in January
New unemployment rates released for January show no real change for Santee.

Santee's January at 8.5 percent, compared to the previous few months. The unemployment rate was and January's numbers are down from the 9 percent in September, according to a report released Friday by the California Employment Development Department.
San Diego County's jobless rate edged down to 10.3 percent in January, down from 10.9 percent for the same period in 2010, according to the same report.
California's seasonally adjusted jobless rate was 12.4 percent in January, down from 12.5 percent in December and up slightly from the 12.3 percent rate from January 2010, according to the EDD. While the U.S. Labor Department announced national numbers for February, with unemployment at 8.9 percent, and the addition of 192,000 non-farm jobs from the month before.

According to EDD, the worst drops were in retail trade and construction.
