The average price is 5.3 cents less than one week ago and 31.2 cents lower than one month ago but 87.5 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

"As prices are dropping, we are seeing some wider gaps between the cheapest and most expensive gas stations,'' said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
