1 Injured In Fire At Santee Apartment Complex

SANTEE, CA – Heavy smoke and flames poured out of a Santee apartment complex Thursday night, where one person was injured.

The blaze broke out around 6:45 p.m. at the Santee Villas apartments at 10445 Mast Boulevard, near Santana High School. Crews from the Santee Fire Department, Heartland Fire & Rescue, and Lakeside Fire District responded to the scene.

One person suffered injuries and was taken to the Burn Center at UC San Diego Health, according to a Heartland fire dispatcher. No further details were available.

Multiple units were evacuated at the two-story, multi-building complex while firefighters battled the blaze.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
