100 Foods To Eat Before You Die and Where to Find Them Locally

According to the Facebook quiz, most people have tried about 20 of the 100 items. How many have you tried?

A list of 100 foods to try before you die is gaining legs. The Facebook list, which is really a quiz to shame you into trying more foods or in some cases brag to friends about how culinarily adventurous you are, has been gaining popularity.

Some of the items on the list are every day items here in Southern California. We are pretty sure you have had a fish taco and a mimosa at an outdoor brunch with friends. But, have you tried kangaroo, shark, squirrel or something called umeboshi? (We Googled for you. It is pickled ume fruit, a sort of plum or apricot.)

So here is what to do: Get out a pen and make a tally of each the foods you’ve tried on this list. Then let us know how many you’ve sampled in the comment section below and tell us where you found them.
