1 Injured After Car Overturns On SR 52

SANTEE, CA -- At least one person was injured after a car overturned down an embankment off state Route 52. The crash was reported at 2:32 p.m. on eastbound Route 52 approaching Mast Boulevard in Santee, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It's unclear what caused the crash, but the car was believed to have gone at least 50 feet off the side of the freeway.

One person was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital with a broken leg, a CHP dispatcher said.
