Man's Body Found on Lakeside Sidewalk
A 29-year-old suspect has been arrested on suspicion of murdering the 35-year-old victim, San Diego County sheriff's officials said.
LAKESIDE, CA: A dead body was found by a newspaper carrier on a Lakeside sidewalk just before dawn Sunday, and a man was later arrested.
Lance Benson, 29, was arrested by San Diego County sheriff's homicide detectives and was expected to be booked into the San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of one count of murder.
The grisly find was at 4:20 a.m. in the 10400 block of Aquilla Drive β east of North Magnolia Avenue off El Nopal β according toΒ San Diego County Sheriff's Homicide Lt. Kenneth Nelson.

Deputies from the sheriff's Lakeside substation found the victim unresponsive and suffering from trauma to the upper body. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene, Nelson said.
The victim was described only as a man approximately 35 years old. His identity was not immediately released.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office was scheduled to perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
