Mason Herron Campaign identified as source of the hit piece on Stephen Houlahan

Mason Herron, a political consultant for the San Diego Group (a firm that has represented potential Fanita Ranch developers for 2 decades) has been linked to the late hit piece on Santee City Council Candidate Stephen Houlahan. The desperate mailing was sent by political consultant / Vista council member John Franklin, documented as a contributor on Herron’s CA Form 460. Franklin runs a political mail house that sends out late attacks on candidates when there is no opportunity to respond. Franklin has also worked for extremist Congressman Darrell Issa.

The cost of the hit piece was $4,099.90. Franklin also sent a late hit piece targeting an official that stood with Santee residents in the battle to defeat the Quail Brush power plant, County Supervisor Dave Roberts, at a cost of $12,839.26. Supervisor Dave Roberts is a clean energy warrior that stood with Santee as we battled Goldman Sachs shills and defeated the Quail Brush power plant.

Preserve Wild Santee urges Santee voters not to be duped like they have been in Vista by electing a shady political consultant that shills for big money developers. Electing Mason Herron would be the same as electing a HomeFed Fanita Ranch consultant to city council that represents HomeFed’s interests, not Santee’s.
