Motorcyclist Killed In East County Crash
A man was ejected off his motorcycle after failing to negotiate a curve in the roadway in Lakeside, the CHP said.

LAKESIDE, CA — A man died Tuesday after being ejected from his motorcycle in eastern San Diego County.
The fatal crash happened around 5:55 a.m. when the 61-year-old man was driving a Harley Davidson northbound on Moreno Avenue to westbound Vigilante Road in Lakeside, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man, whose name was not released, was ejected off his motorcycle after failing to negotiate a curve in the roadway, the CHP said. He traveled onto the east shoulder and struck a raised curb, a street sign and then a fence. The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Moreno Avenue was closed for an investigation but has since reopened, according to the CHP. It has yet to be determined if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the fatal crash.
