Pedestrian Killed Crossing Mission Gorge Road in Santee

SANTEE, CA - A pedestrian was hit by Cadillac in Santee Thursday morning and died from injuries sustained in the collision, Sheriff's deputies say.

A 67-year-old female was attempting to cross Mission Gorge Road around 9:30 a.m., when she was struck by a 2006 Cadillac CTS, according to authorities.

Santee Paramedics worked to help the pedestrian and transported her to Sharp Memorial Hospital. She was pronounced deceased at the hospital, according to deputies.

The driver of the Cadillac, an 82-year-old female, did not suffer injuries in the collision. Deputies say alcohol, drugs, or speed were not factors in the crash based on their preliminary investigation.

Westbound Mission Gorge Road from Magnolia Avenue to Edgemoor Drive was closed for several hours while the Sheriff's deputies conducted their investigation.
