Pedestrian Struck, Killed on I-8 Near Blossom Valley
The fatality was reported at about 3:45 p.m., just east of Lake Jennings Park Road.

LAKESIDE, CA β Authorities have reopened lanes on westbound Interstate 8 near Blossom Valley following the death of a pedestrian on the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatality occurred at about 3:45 p.m. Monday just east of Lake Jennings Park Road, when a male pedestrian was hit by a box truck, the CHP reported.
A SigAlert was issued and the slow lane was closed as the collision was investigated. As traffic became backed up, some motorists were turning around in the median to take the Dunbar Lane exit, according to the CHP.

At 5:17 p.m., both westbound lanes of I-8 were reportedly open.
Who the victim was and how he ended up on the freeway was not immediately clear.
