The second annual Ice Cream Social at was held on Thursday- there was a line across the room for ice cream, with Jones scooping you were lucky, and a packed house of constituents.

Jones presented certificates to two nominees for the District's veteran of the year and to Santee's Elaine Murphy, president of the , as the 2012 .

He also gave an "update from Sacramento," talking about bills he'd worked on this year and others that he thought were ridiculous.

"I'd love to come back and say it's going well in Sacramento," Jones said.

He ended with some questions from the audience and a warning about the upcoming elections.

"They're finding every chance to raise taxes," Jones said. "In November you get to tell the Governor if you want more taxes, or not."

Representatives of , the , , La Mesa City Council and other local organizations were in attendence.
