Poe Metro Area

POE -- In September 2016, changes will be coming to San Diego's East County.

We will be making El Cajon, La Mesa, Lemon Grove and Santee and communities like Lakeside, Spring Valley, Alpine and Jamul all suburbs of Poe, California.

It will be a Combined Statistical Area with San Diego. But it will have it's own public trolleys where you can transfer to the San Diego Trolley, plus you can commute to work in San Diego.

There will be a park with a historic carousel, plus Poe will still have Santee Lakes in Santee, Parkway Plaza in El Cajon and Santee Trolley Square in Santee.

The new small area will be named after "Edgar Manson and Virginia Boykin Poe." Edgar Manson Poe, Jr was a optometrist at Sear's in Parkway Plaza and Virginia Boykin Poe was a La Mesa resident who loves cats and kittens.

We're so excited for this new small metropolitan area, Poe will be a neat way to commute to work in San Diego, Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles Counties, as well as Camp Pendleton, San Diego and Julian.
