Downed Power Pole Prompts Santee Power Outage
There were initially over 2,000 customers without power in the Santee and Lake Murray areas.

Update:
SANTEE, CA – A downed power pole left nearly 1,000 San Diego Gas and Electric customers without power Sunday.
The pole was reported to have fallen about 11 a.m. onto an apartment complex on Rosemonde Lane in Santee, Colleen Windsor of SDG&E said.

Contrary to earlier reports of a small fire sparked by the fallen pole, Windsor said there was no fire.
There were initially over 2,000 customers without power in the Santee and Lake Murray areas, Windsor said, but that number had fallen to 965 by 4 p.m.

Mission Gorge Road was closed for a time because of the incident, but reopened after about three hours, according to San Diego Sheriff's Lt. Matthew Glisson.
Traffic signals were still out in the area, and were not expected to be back online until about 6 p.m., Glisson said.

SANTEE, CA – Hundreds of customers are without power amid a heat wave Sunday afternoon in Santee. San Diego Gas & Electric reported on its outage map that 965 customers have no power in the area of Carlton Hills, Lake Murray, Mission Gorge, Sycamore Canyon and Santee.
The outage started at 11:23 a.m. SDG&E estimates the power will be restored by about 6 p.m.
Crews have found a need to repair SDG&E equipment, according to the utility company.
